“Cultivate your happiness today.”

Welcome!

Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for a better tomorrow.

You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, but when you do, you will feel confident that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place and being a better you.

Here at Integrative Counseling Solutions, I realize that no two people are the same, and I tailor my therapy to meet your specific needs as an individual. I love helping people understand the things that are holding them back with an in-depth approach. After recognizing underlying problems, clients can fully realize their strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.

About Steffanie Thompson

I know that making the decision to contact a therapist can be difficult for some and my goal is to make the process as welcoming as possible. I work in an extremely relaxed, informal manner that is collaborative in nature. You will find that our therapy sessions most resemble a warm conversation in a soothing office setting. I like to use humor regularly in my therapy sessions and I take every possible measure to ensure that my office is a safe place for clients to freely laugh, cry, or express anger as they need. I believe that many people not only experience stress and anxiety by unfortunate adversities, but also by how they construct their views of reality through the stories they tell themselves regarding the stressful incident. While I like to systematically pull different counseling techniques from a wide range of theories, I tend to work most heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused (SF) standpoints. Both of these types of therapies help people overcome irrational, dysfunctional, and unhealthy thought processes that tend to add to and prolong emotional strain, trauma, and tension due to a stressful life incident.
